Tom's buck

Tom went deer hunting and shot a buck on the opening morning. He called me around 10:30 or 11:00 to check in. While on the phone he saw a four point and shot it while leaving the phone on the ground so I could hear. After hearing the clicking of him releasing the shells, he picked up the phone saying, "crap, it just fell off a cliff!" It ended up falling off several cliffs and sliding down the face of Timp several hundred yards. It took him about 10 minutes or so to get to it. He then called me to tell me that his four point was now a two by one. I guess that's the chance you take when you hunt on the face of Timp and in an area where there are lots of cliffs. Here are some photos of the antlers, or what's left of them. We decided to mount it and put it next to the elk (when we get it back).

Looks pretty nice, don't you think? HAHA

Baptism and Blessing

On October 10th we baptized our oldest and blessed our youngest. It was a great day. After we went to the nearby park for a little something to eat. We ended up having tons of left overs since half the family couldn't come, either from living out of state, sick kids, hunting or just being too early. Thanks for those who came to support us. We missed those that couldn't come, but totally understand and actually want to thank you for not wanting to spread your sickness. We love our family and of course wish everyone could have come.

One month old.

So our little one is now a month old. Well as of tomorrow. Time sure has gone by fast. We've hardly even gotten our camera out. Our oldest had a about a million pictures taken by this point. I'm surprised he's not blind. Here are some picutres from her first professional shoot.

Elk

So my hubby went hunting and got himself an Elk. He was just about trampled by a herd of cows and then this guy came running up behind them and was coming straight at Tom. Tom shot him from about 15-20 yards away. He is a 6x6 and so far has a rough score of 350. Not bad for his first bull elk. The cherry on top was that he got it opening morning around 8:00. Which means that he is home all this week instead of hunting. Let me know if you need any elk meat, we still have meat in the freezer from the cow he shot two years ago. We wrap it really well and it should still be good.

Cherry Lemonade Quilts

Just for kicks I thought I'd post some pictures of the quilts that all the ladies in our quilt group did. That and you can see mine completely done. Now I just need to talk Tom into getting rid of the wall ac unit and to patch up the hole so I can hang it up. Does anyone know how to do brick?
(If you click on the pictures, you can see the detail in each quilt better).

My quilt all done!

The quilt above was the prototype.
